Well….I got it running!
It sounds awesome! I still have a lot to do to make it road worthy, but this was a major milestone.
Should be 100% road worthy in 2 or 3 weeks….!
Well….it has been a LOT of work!
But I’m just about ready to fire it up for the first time….here is a picture of how it sits right now.
I have a little wiring to do, some plumbing, and some misc items.
Check back soon!
The engine is in and I’m working on getting everything connected.
Starting to look like an engine again!
My girlfriend helped me Friday….only took about 30 minutes. Milestone in this project!
I still have a lot to do….but making progress!
Well I discovered I needed a different flex-plate to bolt up my new torque converter…
It seems they come in 10″ and 11″ bolt patterns as well as symmetrical and non-symmetrical bolt patterns to bolt it to the engine. At least they are inexpensive. Here is the NEW flex-plate and some ARP bolts.
So – it looks like the engine will go back in the car this Saturday!
Friday is the big day….the engine is ready to go back in the ‘Cuda. Looks pretty good if you ask me!
The plan is to set the headers in and tie them back, then slip the engine in-between. I did this with my Corvette and it worked out great.
The engine is mostly assembled and I should have it back in the car in a week or two.
After it’s back in there’s still a lot to do before I can start it. But at least it will be back in the car!
OK – over the weekend I completed the front suspension rebuild. It will still need alignment but that will come after the car is drive-able again!
So……moving right along, I stripped the old paint off the heads, cleaned them up (still a little more cleaning to go) and assembled the first head.
I’ll finish these up during the week and get them painted and pretty!
4 day weekend coming….!
I started with the driver’s side on my front suspension rebuild. Tore it all apart last weekend and during the week I removed and pressed in all my new bushings. I had a little trouble installing my upper control arm but I got it in last night. Tonight I’ll paint up some parts and tomorrow morning I’m ready to reassemble the driver’s side.
Then I have to move the car over and do the passenger side!
